Quality and safety are key when it comes to providing health and social care services, as well as for the demanded guarantees from society in order to choose these services safely.
Accreditation generates confidence among patients and health and social care service managers as the assessment is performed impartially, independently, and efficiently, in accordance with internationally recognized standards.
ESYD accredits according to the standard ISO 17021-1 Certification Bodies of Management Systems, which provide certification services in the standard ISO 13485 Products for medical use – Quality Management Systems – System Requirements for Regulatory purposes as well as in the standard EN 15224 Quality Management Systems EN ISO 9001:2015 for healthcare.
ESYD accredits, according to the ISO 15189 Standard, Clinical Diagnostic laboratories, in the private and public sector, with technical objects that include examinations of Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, Immunology, Microbiology, Histocompatibility Tests, Molecular Genetics, Cytogenetics, Pathological Anatomy, Cytology, Molecular Biology, Drug levels, Clinical toxicology, as well as laboratories belonging to Stem Cell Banks and Medical Imaging Laboratories.
In addition, ESYD is in the process of expanding its accreditation services to new fields, with European and International interest, such as the accreditation of Physiology Laboratories, the accreditation of In-Bed Testing (according to ISO 15189 and ISO 22870) and the accreditation of Biobanks (according to ISO 20387).
From the beginning of the pandemic caused by the emergence of SARS CoV-2, ESYD responded quickly to the need for laboratory evaluations, issued guidelines for molecular testing, antibody testing accreditation and pooling of samples, while it is currently in the process of evaluating SARS CoV-2 measurements in wastewater.
