The Hellenic Accreditation System (ESYD) has been appointed by the Greek government as the National Accreditation Body of Greece according to the Regulation (EC) No 765/2008, assesses the technical competence, independence and impartiality of certification, inspection and verification bodies as well as testing and calibration laboratories.
ESYD is a signatory member of the European and the International Network of Accreditation Bodies under the international Mutual Recognition Agreements having successfully undergone a peer evaluation performed by other members.
Accreditation Procedure
From the application to the granting of accreditation, CABs must fulfill the requirements for conformity assessment of products and services.
CABs making the application are assessed by ESYD in all the phases as far as the issue of the certificate of accreditation.
ESYD ensures that the applicant fulfills the necessary requirements of the voluntary and mandatory reference standards by means of assessments conducted both before the granting or extension of accreditation and also during the phases of surveillance and renewal. The accresitation certificate has a validity of four years.
